I am coming to the end of my physiotherapy sessions supported by my Different Strokes bursary and the experience has been superb from start to finish. Everything about Physiofunction is totally professional, welcoming and utterly client centred. The Assessment was thorough and set up a plan according to my goals. The treatment that followed has been wonderful - allowing me to focus on retraining myself to improve my gait and so walk more easily. It is early days but I am thankful and hopeful I will continue my learning. Andrew - Stroke

Andrew had a stroke in November 2023 resulting in left side weakness impacting mostly his arm, leg and foot. Once discharged from the community stroke team, we knew there was more that could be achieved with Andrew’s mobility and functionality and that’s when we discovered Physio Function! Michelle has worked with and continues to work with Andrew achieving amazing progress. She is highly experienced and motivating, managing to bring compassionate understanding to each session too. We see progress after each appointment. Physio Function do more than physiotherapy. They look at the person in totality, understand constraints and goals, working hand in hand with their clients with patience, compassion and expertise. One of the biggest problems with having FND is that most health professionals do not understand it. Here at Physiofunction - they understand! They are the experts, so you don't have to be. Initially I was struggling to walk unaided and the slightest exertion would cause my FND to be triggered. But now I am able to walk, run, and work on high level exercises. The sessions with Charlie are fun, interesting and informative and he helps me improve my ability and confidence in real life scenarios. I can't believe how much progress I have made in a fairly short period of time; I didn't think it was possible to improve to this level. So thank you Physiofunction for everything you do.

After several sessions at PF, my Cerebral Palsy was much more relaxed. The PF team knew I was competitive so recommended Neurofit classes. I now mix and match my treatments having hydrotherapy, Neurofit Classes, PFit sessions and 1:1 hands on physio. My hand and leg are almost normal, and I have gained virtually full use of them. Every member of the team at PhysioFunction has been absolutely fantastic. They provided me with an intensive program over 3 weeks which has significantly improved my FND symptoms. It was wonderful watching my husband go from being very tense to totally relaxing and gaining in confidence as time in the hydro pool went on. Kirsten and Megan were so very lovely and kind with him - I'm so happy. It was so rewarding to see how the girls worked his body. In the changing room afterwards he was sitting bolt upright like my husband used to be - wonderful!

I recently took my first overseas holiday since I had a stroke. Before travelling it was obvious my left leg was benefitting from strengthening exercises in the pool. I was concerned how I would manage the pool on holiday, and after talking it through with Kirsten she suggested I use an ankle weight to help manage my worry, and she helped me practice pool walking. When I arrived on my holiday, I was able to access the pool via steps with the weight helping to keep my foot down. Using the pool several times a day ensured I fully enjoyed my time there. I cannot thank Kirsten enough for her time with me and would highly recommend it as therapy option. It certainly ensured I fully enjoyed this special time.

My sincere thanks to both Alison and Guy for their tremendous support given to me with regards my ongoing battle with Parkinsons. Diagnosed 17 years ago, I have been accessing Physiofunction for the last 2 years. I am convinced that Alison’s support has helped me and my wife cope with what is a frustrating and mysterious heath condition. I cannot thank and praise PhysioFunction enough, especially Michelle, for everything she has done for me over the past two years. Spinal cord compression had resulted in me losing the use of my legs. I received emergency spinal surgery and subsequent radiotherapy but the prognosis was uncertain with no indication of how much mobility I may recover. I was fortunate to discover the PhysioFunction website and was soon assessed to begin treatment. PhysioFunction has been amazing, inspiring and encouraging every step of the way in my rehab.
