Dear Client
I wanted to write to you to share how Physiofunction has responded, and will continue to respond, to the Coronavirus situation in order to help protect the welfare of our staff and clients as much as possible.
As you would expect, we have been very closely monitoring the situation and following all advice from Public Health England and the NHS. We have heightened our already robust infection control policy and all staff are briefed on the most updated advice regarding guidance to help prevent the spread of all germs and we would appreciate your support in reinforcing this at home.
The Chief Medical Advisor for England, Chris Whitty, has updated advice for travellers returning to the UK from specific areas affected by COVID-19.
In line with this advice, you are able to continue attending the clinic for treatment so long as neither you or any immediate family members or carers have visited the specified areas or countries listed on the government website below in the past 14 days, or have come into contact with anyone who has visited the specified areas or countries listed in the past 14 days. For clarification – Anyone having travelled to or from either Category 1 OR Category 2 areas, or who have come into contact with anyone who has, will not be seen by Physiofunction for a period of 14 days after their return. https://www.gov.uk/government/...
At this time of year, viral respiratory infections such as colds and flu are very common in the UK. As a sensible precautionary measure, anyone with flu-like symptoms (a cough/high temperature/shortness of breath) should contact Physiofunction to inform us and seek further advice from NHS 111. Please do not attend the clinic or allow for home visits until given the clearance to do so by health professionals.
The NHS has issued the following advice on the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus:
· Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
· Put used tissues in the bin straight away
· Wash your hands with soap and water often - use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
· Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
Regularly updated further information is available here: NHS website - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/... Government website - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wu...
We would like to thank you for your support in helping us to safeguard the good health of our staff, clients and all the members of the Physiofunction community.
Kind Regards
Helen Logan – Operations Manager
